About me:
I started woodworking about 20 years ago, first as a hobby honing my skills and acquiring power and hand tools. More recently, I decided to venture forth to make my love for woodworking into a business. What I offer is my eye for design and my passion for creating unique pieces. I hope that passion comes through on these pages, though as with any functional art, seeing and feeling the actual pieces has no real substitute.
I work in a small shop that I built from foundation to roof, nestled among trees (one even grows "through" the roof!) that sits in front of our home. I start each piece from raw materials. I mill the lumber, use a variety of saws, sanding machines, and hand tools and hand sanding to shape the work as I go. I rarely have the full design in mind or on paper prior to creating the piece, prefering instead to let it emerge as I work it. I complete the entire piece myself, ending in fine finishing to bring out the unique grains and colors of the wood. Each piece represents many hours of work, and the result is a creation that I hope will bring you as much pleasure to have or to gift as I experienced in the making.
